      Our aluminum bumpers are constructed out of ¼” thick 5052 aluminum. Aluminum provides great corrosion resistance and substantial weight savings over steel. While it is still very strong and durable, it will sustain dents and scratches easier than steel if you like to play hard in the rocks

This is an underbody skid plate DIY weld-together kit for the 1st generation (1995.5-2004) Toyota Tacoma. This 2-piece set mounts using all factory mounting points (no drilling required) and provides excellent protection of the radiator, front differential, engine oil pan, steering rack, transmission and transfer case. To maximize ground clearance, we use a dual angle front plate that tucks in as close to the frame as possible, providing the best approach angle of any skid plate set on the market. We've used a dual-wall construction at the highest impact area as well as multiple ribs that run the length of the skid set. These features make these skid plates drastically stronger than other skid plates on the market which are simply bent into shape with little to no reinforcements and inadequate mounts.


  • DIY Weld-together kit - This skid plate set arrives as precision CNC-laser cut pieces that you then weld together (detailed assembly instructions included)

  • Complete 2-piece set that provides excellent protection of the radiator, front differential, engine oil pan, steering rack, transmission and transfer case

  • Coastal Offroad Tree Logo Cut into front skid plate

  • Heavy duty 3/16" plate steel construction for maximum offroad strength and durability

  • Optional 1/4" 5052 aluminum construction for a lightweight yet very durable overlanding setup (65lb weight savings)

  • Maximum approach angle - front plate tucks up as tight to the frame as possible

  • Front plate bolts directly to frame using 9 factory mounting points - no drilling required

  • Rear plate bolts directly to frame using 8 factory mounting points - no drilling required

  • Oil drain hole allows for oil changes without skid plate removal

  • Slotted mounting holes for hassle-free assembly and installation

  • All kits ship as clean, bare metal that is ready to weld out of the box - the Nitrogen laser cutting technology means no cutting edge oxidation and thus easier and stronger welds
